Picnic Jam

Created for the Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture’s “Eating in the Great Outdoors” exhibition, a standard picnic table was transformed into a giant marimba, with metallophones at each end and low pitch tube gongs under each bench seat. The aluminium tubing was reclaimed from gym apparatus. The teak wood used for the marimba’s keys was reclaimed from handrails from the same condemned school.
